The restoration of the tower stands as a bridge between past and future greatness. nxtARROW has been launched to help lead Buffalo across that bridge, by promoting Buffalo’s “High Quality of Life and Low Cost of Living,” to startups and entrepreneurs in North America’s most expensive markets, and creating a year of space, services and benefits at no charge to entice startups from these target markets and elsewhere to make Buffalo a startup destination once again.

It is our vision and mission to help make the former “Queen City of the Lakes,” the future “Queen City of Startups” by building a new entrepreneurship infrastructure on the ruins of and excess capacity remaining from Buffalo’s first great moment, just over a century ago, when Buffalo was the wealthiest city in America thanks to the convergence of transportation, manufacturing and electricity. All the “DNA” of that past greatness is still present in the great parks and parkways designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, in the great architecture, the cultural infrastrucure, and the “never say die” spirit of the city. We see our role as that of a midwife, in a way, helping Buffalo make that extra push that is needed to give birth to a new generation of prosperity and possibility.
Our Mission: Bringing Buffalo Back by Creating a New Model for Economic Development
In the sense that we exist to foster and facilitate the economic rebirth of Buffalo by recruiting business from out of town, nxtARROW is an economic development company. In the sense that we achieve our mission by creating an infrastructure that will attract and nurture startups, we are an incubator. In our approach to incubation by linking qualified tenants and clients with landlords and service providers we are an entrepreneurs’ concierge company. As we strive to revitalize Buffalo, we also strive to create a new private, for profit, sustainable model for economic development that will plant and nurture companies in Buffalo soil at the seed stage, so that those seeds will put down roots, become Buffalo companies through and through, and as they grow, create more and more jobs for Buffalo people—without spending a single tax dollar.
